RAMYAD Wedding Photographer London

A typical day in the life of a wedding photographer

From the minute I have been booked to photograph a wedding I start the ball rolling. The most important thing with wedding photography is the preparation.

PRE-EVENT PREPARATION

Once booked I will;

  • Visit the couple 1 month before the wedding to go through photographs required, meet immediate members of the family and bridal party and discuss any special needs.
  • Double check all information regarding the church or venue, reception venue, addresses and times.
  • 1 week before the wedding I do a complete dry run from the house in which the bride will leave, to the church and on to the reception using the exact times in order to assess the lighting and traffic.
  • I will, on the way, check for suitable and special areas where group shots and individual "special" shots can be taken.

The method in which I shoot a wedding is a mixture of classical with a more modern "reportage" work method. In other words, I will capture the day as I see it with the important set-up shots taken as and when it is suitable. My style is modern, using shallow focus techniques to make the subjects pop from the photo. I love using fashion photography techniques when photographing the bride.

I try not to interfere or get in the way and basically just get on with the job.

ON THE DAY

I like to capture as much as I can from the day including (if required and booked) the following;

framed wedding picture
  • Bride and parents/bridal party getting ready at house
  • Bridal Party Portraits
  • Brides personal portraits and signature shots
  • Bride leaving the house
  • Groom and best man waiting at church
  • Groom and grooms party formals and signature shots
  • Arrival of the bride
  • The Service
  • Leaving church and confetti shots
  • Special location shots with the couple
  • Reception including toasts, cutting of the cake, first dance and speeches

Obviously there are many more including family groups and children etc, but these are the basics. Along the way I will capture the more candid shots such as guests waiting, arriving, drinking, chatting, laughing and general "as they happen" shots.

I shoot entirely digital using high end professional equipment. The images are of the highest quality and will easily print up to A1 or 34 inches on the longest edge with exceptional clarity.

POST-EVENT PREPARATION

Once the images have been taken, I spend whatever time it takes per image to ensure that they are bright, crisp, clean and colourful. Any bits of rubbish or unwanted artefacts such as cranes or litter are professionally and unnoticeably removed to make the best of the shot.

All images are available in either Colour or black and white. Any special requirements such as sepia toning, montages or anything that your creative side desires can be done on request.

If you have chosen any special post-processing stages then I will start to enhance your set of chosen photos so that they will appear on your personal website, albums, DVD, prints and DVD slideshow.

Dependant on your chosen wedding package, I will then start work on the wedding albums and the DVD slideshow.

DELIVERY

As soon as possible after the wedding day, I will prepare an online wedding gallery that you can share with friends and family. I would hope to have it ready whilst you are on your honeymoon so I can send you a link that you can use to re-live your wedding day whilst you relax on the beach. The gallery may exclude any specially requested post-processing requirements, upon your request, so that it does not spoil the end effect.

The DVD slideshow will be produced after the wedding albums have been designed and sent to the printers. Upon your return and dependant on the duration of your honeymoon, you should have the DVD delivered within two weeks after the wedding albums have been sent to the printers.

If you would prefer to review your wedding album layout before it is set for printing then I would send you a PDF of all the pages, which you can digitally annotate and send back to me for further edits.

Any prints that you have ordered will arrive a week after the DVD Slideshow has been shipped to you.
